We found the apartment to be exactly as represented by the photos: clean, cheerful and well-equipped. Location was convenient to downtown, both by foot (10 minutes) and car (5 minutes). Both the owner and the reservationists were very responsive and helpful. However, some caveats: the neighbourhood is not a residential neighbourhood. The street contains two or three residences, parking lots, commercial buildings, a small church and the previously-mentioned social service agency. It can seem desolate at night. With respect to the agency, there were outside loudspeaker announcements for clients early in the morning (6:45 one morning, 7:00 on another) that were disruptive to the occupant of the middle bedroom. And, for some persons, the exterior steps to the second floor backdoor may be a concern.
Thanks for your feedback. Indeed, we are not located in a suburban residential neighborhood! We are in downtown's West End--an urban setting that includes free off-street parking behind the building, an easy walk to the City center, and a restful evening locale. Just last week, a 116-unit apartment project one block to our south received final City approval. We are excited to have new neighbors which will certainly liven things up a bit in the evenings! Thanks for the heads up about the early morning loudspeaker. This is the first we've heard of it and will follow up. Also, 1st floor units in the building will be available for booking this spring for those concerned about climbing stairs.
Great accommodations with fun atmosphere. The properties that are in close proximity were mildly concerning and the rental needs one extra blanket available for the extra cold folks out there but otherwise super nice place. Loved the bathroom, kitchen and artwork. The master bed and couch were both super comfy which is nice when you're away from home! Thanks for your availability!!
Extra blanket on the way. Thanks for the feedback. My office is next door in a converted 1890's Victorian--I hope we weren't cause for concern! On a serious note, the other adjacent property was just purchased. The new owners are now moving in and fixing up the place. Fortunately for us, they are super nice folks.
This is a great rental! Right off the beaten path in Asheville. The accommodations are superb with everything imaginable you need. The beds and towels are soft and fluffy. Great break from our previous stays at the Hotel Indigo. Love having a kitchen to make coffee and have late afternoon snacks prior to going to downtown. There is a homeless facility on the street where they seem to serve meals and may have light housing. It is very well monitored with police presence. The walking distance to the center of downtown with restaurants and shops is only about .4 miles. If you don't want to walk you can easily take UBER. I would definitely recommend this apartment. We used it for a girls weekend. Had a blast! Will be back next year!!
See you next year! We have some exciting improvements planned for the property over the winter that will make your next stay even better.
We had never been to Asheville before and we had a blast - hiking, river floats, art shopping, beer tasting - the city is fantastic! The condo was a perfect set up - the space is cool and hip with plenty of amenities. We had 4 guests (2 couples) with no problem for space at all. The condo is easily walkable to downtown and lots of cool restaurants and bars. The reservationist was very helpful with our questions, both about the condo and Asheville. Five stars, and would definitely go back!
We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and look forward to seeing you again!
This is a really great apartment-- spotlessly clean, very comfortable, interestingly decorated with new appliances, towels and bedding. It's in a great location in that you can easily walk downtown to enjoy all that the city has to offer, even though the road it's on isn't much to look at with all the parking lots and the homeless facility. Overall, though, I would definitely recommend staying here.
We are really pleased you enjoyed the apartment and location!
The apartment was spacious and beautiful and had fabulous designer touches, including upgraded kitchen appliances and recessed lighting everywhere. The beds were comfortable and the apartment was spotless. We had no complaints at all, except for the location, which was dicey. That's because of a Homeless facility (run by Homeward Bound) across the street. Other than that, the place is a winner.
We are very pleased you enjoyed the apartment and appreciate your feedback on location. Homeward Bound is a local non-profit that moves people into permanent housing. While the shelter closed nearly 10 years ago, the agency currently provides invaluable support and advisory services in the mornings. My commercial real estate office has been located across the street for nearly 15 years without incident. Homeward Bound is a great neighbor and an important stakeholder in our community.
This apartment is decorated and equipped as well as any you will find on VRBO. Everything was new and tasteful done, (very contemporary/Hip) and in immaculate condition. The king sized bed was comfortable and the sheets and towels were all brand new. The kitchen has everything you need and more, all the appliances, cups glasses and silverware were more upscaled than we expected. The owner had even left us fresh ground coffee sugar, and chocolate, he was very responsive and hands on. The only complaint we had was a concert taking place across the parking lot at a new amphitheater, if we were into the music it might have been cool. The neighborhood is edgy and we had no problems driving or walking to downtown Asheville shopping and restaurants, (about a 10 minute walk or 5 minute drive).
Thank you, Dave, for being our first guests and taking the time to provide some valuable feedback about Ann Street Suite #4. We're sorry you didn't enjoy the music! Apparently, New Mountain AVL just began a new summer outdoor series. We spoke with the owners and they are very eager to be good neighbors and hope that our guests, as well as those staying at neighboring Hotel Indigo and soon to be completed Hyatt Place, will come enjoy the live music. Of course all shows will abide by city noise ordinances and generally end no later than 9-10pm. Last weekend was the beginning of many outdoor musical events throughout Asheville during the warmer months. Your feedback has motivated us to provide guests with the line-up at New Mountain AVL so they can check out the schedule for themselves. New Mountain plans to have food trucks available too, so visitors can enjoy some fantastic local food while listening to great music. In addition to upscale appliances, fixtures and decor, we hope guests will appreciate one of the best amenities of Ann Street Suite #4 -- its downtown location. It's not in a traditional neighborhood but an urban setting that includes off-street parking and is walkable to downtown.
