Asheville boasts more breweries per capita than anywhere else in the South East, with equally as many ways to explore them. Most places offer complimentary guided tours. (Book ahead of time to save your spot.) Many breweries are concentrated in the South Slope area, just south of  the center of downtown. A few notable ones located here are Wicked Weed, Burial, Asheville Brewing Company, Green Man and High Wire. If you are looking to dive further into our diverse brewing scene, consider a guided tour. A couple great options are Asheville Brewery Tours or Brew Ed. For self-guided options check out the Asheville Ale Trail or Brewed Clues (offering a mystery, clue-based tour.) While Sierra Nevada Brewery is located 20 minutes south (take 1-26 SE) the impressive space and award-winning restaurant make it worth the drive. New Belgium is located in the River Arts District, and both are destinations unto themselves. The options for libations are endless, so take care and choose to take an Uber when you have had your fill.
